Tincture Hat -
Mosaic knitting. Different from fair-isle because you are working with only one color at a time and achieve a somewhat fair-isle look by slipping stitches. Mosaic knitting is a great introduction to colorwork, without having to worry so much about carrying multiple colors at a time, or even tension with your floats. You just alternate 2 rounds with one color and then 2 rounds with your other color!
